Fifteen minutes from downtown Dallas and 10 minutes from Bishop Arts, you’ll find the neighborhood of Kimball Square and a sleek, contemporary house we love. Located at 3508 Shady Hollow Ln., this house sits on a quarter-acre treed lot and is our Thursday Three Hundred.

The exterior is eye-catching, with architectural elements you won’t see anywhere else in Dallas. The interior is the work of interior designer, V Mode de Vie, who hand selected all interior finishes, materials, and details, while keeping with the natural architecture this home already had. The combination makes for a stunning and rare find, all for well under $400K.

This house has four bedrooms, two of which are masters, two full bathrooms, one half bath, an office, two dining areas, and 2,162 square feet on two stories.

Throughout the house, you’ll find porcelain floors, flat museum walls, recessed LED lights, light colors, and clean lines, all illuminated by lots of natural light. The overall effect is striking. Soaring ceilings in the living room add to the effect. New aluminum glass sliding doors allow for an indoor/outdoor experience and you can hear the water running thru the creek that sits right in the backyard.

The remodel of this home included opening up the floorplan and the flow is natural and intuitive. The large, open kitchen is open to the living room and features Silestone countertops, high-end stainless steel appliances, and modern cabinetry with European leather hardware. Nearby is a large walk-in laundry with custom cabinetry, and powder bath. The downstairs office with has modern builtins.

The house features two full master suites, one upstairs and one downstairs. In the downstairs one, a contemporary soaker tub takes center stage. The upstairs master has the same tile and a clean, contemporary look. Both feature Italian sinks and hardware.

This Kimball Square home was listed Oct. 8 by Grecia Garza with Rogers Healy and Associates for $375,000.

Those stairs could use an aesthetically appropriate (and code compliant) handrail!!! My first thought: I bet this place will be cool during hot Texas summers. All that tile…
