Most people with kids have a wish list when it comes to home shopping. Casual entertaining, open floor plans, outdoor living, and a sweet master retreat all make homebuyers with children weak in the knees.
This brand new listing from David Griffin & Company Realtor Crystal Gonzalez has every single one of those things, plus a stellar backyard that will make summer a much cooler season. Check out our High Caliber Home of the Week sponsored by Lisa Peters at Caliber Home Loans!
Abundant natural light and beautiful hardwood floors make this 3,180-square-foot home feel much larger than it actually is. Built in 1948 and remodeled extensively to accommodate a modern family’s needs, this four-bedroom, three-bathroom home is a pinnacle of transitional design and features an adaptable floor plan to fit your everyday life.
From the street, this East Kessler one-story has tons of curb appeal. Inside, it just keeps getting better. Formal living and dining rooms welcome you, with a cozy fireplace and tons of windows, you may never leave! The family room, which is just on the other side of the formal living room, opens to the designer kitchen. Just beyond that is a play room, which could easily be used as an office.
It’s this easy-flowing, open floor plan that makes 1518 Oak Knoll stand out. Gonzalez just put this property on MLS priced at $940,000, which is just more than $295 per square foot. Considering the upgrades, private backyard, and move in-ready condition, we think that’s a pretty fair number.
The master suite is wonderfully private, with a perfectly finished master bath featuring his-and-hers vanities, a soaking tub with wall-mounted fixtures, and a huge frameless glass shower stall with multiple heads. We love the back-lighted vanity mirrors and sculptural shape of the bathtub. It’s just enough contemporary style to appeal to those with more modern tastes.
But it’s the backyard that really makes this remodeled East Kessler home stand out. In Texas, we thrive on patio time, and this backyard has a great outdoor living area and a lovely little pool that will make summer entertaining a fabulous affair. Mature trees, a privacy fence, and a covered porch make for great spaces to enjoy regardless of the weather.
What do you think of this High Caliber Home?
I simply could eat this house up! From the beautiful grey brick on the front to that car wash master shower, this should be one of our Most Beautiful Listings!
Does the island cooktop have a downdraft vent? There is nothing visible, and I’d be a little concerned about cooking odors wafting through the house. The bathtub is a little strange for my taste but I do like the shape. It just looks so odd placed between two vanities. It seems as if the master shower is overly large, but it may be distortion from the photo angle. Car wash, locker room, it could be economical if you have a herd of kids and want to clean them all at once!
