My mother-in-law is trying to embarrass me again. She’s already started Christmas shopping. The pre-lit trees are already in an aisle at Home Depot, too. In an effort to not be blind-sided by the holidays this year, I am starting my gift-giving plan a little early. Naturally, due to the pervasive nature of Christmas, this thinking has already started to seep into my consciousness.

So of course, when I saw this terribly cute home at 501 Cordova St. in Hollywood Heights, my brain said, “This home would be so amazing done up with some fresh pine garland, some poinsettias, and just the perfect-sized tree. Preferably a fir. Right in Front of those three windows.”

YOU SEE, PEOPLE? IT’S A SICKNESS.

But you agree, don’t you? Wouldn’t that be just perfect? It’s sweet and cozy with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, two living spaces, and an open living and dining room. Imagine a young couple’s first Christmas in their new home, their friends and family over for a bites and cocktails. I hope I get an invitation!

501 Cordova Kitchen

Built in 1926 and recently remodeled, this traditional has more than 1,400 square feet and makes the most of every inch. It’s marketed by Keller Williams Urban agent Britt Lopez for $285,000. It’s close to Lindsley Park, and is just a block away from the Santa Fe Trail that can take you to Deep Ellum or White Rock Lake, take your pick.

The kitchen has a peninsula and room for a pub table and chairs for breakfast. Sure, I’d replace the counters and appliances, but that’s a small fix. The cabinets are in great shape, and the layout is fantastic.

The wood floors are just gorgeous, too, and another detail y’all will appreciate is the California Closets systems in every little nook. No wasted space in these closets, that’s for sure. Besides having a new roof, this home also has a new front patio and a spacious sunroom in the back of the house that is great for an office, an extra living space, or even a guest room.
