Wishlist Wednesday: This Bluffview Architectural Work of Art is One Sexy Beast

Guys, I’m in love yet again. Sitting on almost a half acre with a park view, 3860 Shorecrest Dr.–listed by Ebby’s Linda Jordan Hobbs–is just a hop, skip and a jump from Bachman Lake. Built in 1948, this gorgeous early mid-century modern feels like a livable work of art. Every time I went back through the property photos, I noticed another unique detail that I hadn’t before.

Linda mentioned that this home was also formerly owned by a famous singer/songwriter, but I’m waiting for confirmation on that little tidbit.

I’m digging the funky-shaped windows above some of the doorways.

The first of two living areas has high, wood ceilings, skylights, and gallery-style lighting to draw attention to your personal collection. The flooring in most of the house is cork, but I love the contoured steps leading to the kitchen/dining areas, which are floored in polished concrete.

The second living area provides more space for all of your priceless collectibles.

The kitchen has unique concret countertops, plenty of work space, a walk-in pantry, and lots of built-ins for storage. And look at all those windows! It also has a built-in icemaker and refrigerator.

The 20×16 master bedroom has lots of natural light and its own fireplace. How romantic!

The master bath is equipped with a walk-in shower and a spa-inspired bathtub, as well a beautiful view of the backyard … and a sculpture that is just human-shaped enough to scare the hell of you at night or any other time you forget it’s there.

This master bathroom is rounded out by COMPLETELY separate his/her vanities…for those mornings you’re just not ready to look at each other.

With three patios, this place has more than enough room to entertain. The backyard also features a Koi pond with waterfall.

I really would have liked to see this home staged, but with so many unique features, the home speaks for itself, particularly with the most stylish carport I’ve ever seen. The owner lives in Florida, so I’m sure that where the furniture is as well. Linda said most of the yard art will stay with the house, so in that case, I would relocate the piece in front of the master bathroom window. Just a suggestion.

Listed at $589,000, this home is currently under option. But just in case the deal falls through, I’d put Linda on speed dial.

This house caught my eye as well, but unfortunately what the photos don’t show are large cracks in the walls in several rooms that are sure to promise any new home owner a major foundation bill. My guess, upwards of $30k plus. I also hope you have a budget for a new refrigerator, because this home is missing one as well as a dishwasher repair man, which has clearly been neglected. And with the creek across the street, although very lovely, you’ll need your flood insurance agent on speed dial.

Well at least we are all getting sprayed down for the mosquitoes from said creek. Really don't like that we had to spray, but I have a bird who is very susceptible to West Nile so kind of a necessary evil…
