Beautiful homes hit our inbox hourly, and we can become somewhat jaded with all that gorgeous flying around, but when 5330 Pebblebrook Drive in Russwood Acres — the veritable heart Preston Hollow — came in, our collective jaws hit the ground. Listed by the adorable Karen Keegan, with Ebby Halliday Realtors,  this French traditional, 4,782-square-foot home was designed in 1968 by Robert Mitchell. The style is not only stunning, but also smart. How smart is it you ask?

5425 Royal extRusswood Acres is a gated community in the heart of Preston Hollow, about a quarter mile from that other hot gated community where Jordan Spieth and Hunter Mahan have owned the same house, The Creeks of Preston Hollow. Y’all know that Jordan just picked up Hunter’s house for about $666 a square foot, right? Dirt in The Creeks is going for at least $2 million an acre. So when you look at Russwood Acres, and it’s glitzy gated neighbor which is basically catty-corner, you can begin to absorb the value that is here. I mean, it’s practically a neighbor!GetMedia1

The size and shape of a lot can greatly influence the look and feel of a home. Sometimes a sprawling home on a large lot is nothing short of nirvana, but to transplant that same home to one of the miniscule footprints in University Park? Well, that’s heresy. This gorgeous 1969 contemporary, which has clerestory windows and a low-pitched roof feels so much like a mid-century modern, but has the large rooms and languorous floorplan of the ranch homes for which this area of Preston Hollow is known. The lot is an astonishing 177 feet wide, and totals .57 of an acre. The setback is dramatic, and the landscaping and mature trees make it feel very private.

And the backyard? Well, it’s a great spot for families to run free without a care in the world. This is a home that is easy to fall in love with, and once you fall in love with a home, you don’t want to take any chances with financing. When you’re ready to put a bid in on this High Caliber Home of the Week, talk to Lisa Peters at Caliber Home Loans, a consummate professional who works hard for her clients.

Simply stunning. Tastefully remodeled, this home is located on aWell, this home sure made my Sunday, and I hope it makes your week! I do not know when I have seen such a wonderfully beautiful, thorough, tasteful remodel of a circa 1960’s ranch in Russwood Acres. This neighborhood of sprawling ranches and hefty yards up at Inwood and Royal is still enjoying a lot of renovations on the neighborhood stock — very few tear downs here, mostly because the homes are all built like — to quote my favorite Realtor Hunter Dehn — “brick *%&$houses”. Seriously, these homes are like the foundation at the World Trade Center, and they clean up beautifully.

We lived in a 60’s home once in our Dallas real estate life, a story I intend to blog someday! Melissa Lane: terrazzo, great storage, walk-in closets, built-ins, solid as a rock. The 60’s is when builders and architects began to “get it” and luxe up the home design.

The owners of 5122 Springmeadow Drive went all out. The 4327 square foot ranch is so brimming with newness you would think it was a complete new home the moment you walk in. The owner also used the very types of soft, sleek contemporary materials the marketplace is going ga ga over au current: pale greens and Ann Sacks tiles, wide-planked hand-scraped hardwood floors, loads of natural light, big, white insulated windows, flat screen TVs.
