Yet Another Arlington Home That Could Make Me Move to The Midcities

It’s like everyone who owns a rad 70s or 80s contemporary in Arlington is putting their home on the market. OK, at least two of them, including last week’s Friday $500K. I decided to look again at this Midcities home of Texas Rangers Baseball and that football team, and what did I find but another impeccable home with some outstanding details. Again, this might be a home worth moving to Arlington for. Just look at this lush, two-story wall of windows on the back of 2421 Cooper Street. It’s a listing from Ebby Halliday Realtor Linda Magazzine and it’s on the market for all of $565,000!

This home has an outstanding floor plan, that could be described as the house equivalent of a mullet: business up front with a party in the back. The elevation from the street is subdued, with an Austin stone facade showing just a single story at street level. There is a rather attractive deck that leads you to the etched glass double front door, but you’ll never expect what will greet you through them.

This is a house where you order Windex by the case. Just go ahead and put it on your Amazon Subscribe and Save before you close. There’s so much glass, but the labor is worth these views. Not only that, but there’s a fantastic great room, beautiful formal dining area, contemporary kitchen with stainless steel appliances, and an enormous master suite with a gigantic closet.

Of course, the other three bedrooms and two full and one half baths are great, too. Magazzine says that it’s a three-story floor plan, which is plumb with storage, including two pantries, two garage closets, and three storerooms. If you’re trying to do the math, that’s 6,449 square feet of space, priced at $88 per square foot. Wow, what a deal!

Like we said, the master suite is gigantic. It’s technically located on the second floor, while the other three bedrooms are located in the basement. It totals 475 square feet — almost as big as my first apartment — and includes beautiful views through the many picture windows and an oversized seating area from which you can access the balcony.

The the basement level has room for either more living, a billiard table, a home gym, or whatever you please. But really, it’s the backyard views we want. Just look at it! Beyond the grassy lawn is a fire pit area and then a lovely creekbed. In all, it’s .96 secluded acres, Magazzine says. We love it!

I gotta ask…what’s up with that oven?

That’s one of the only things that bugged me. Why didn’t they take the cabinetry up to the ceiling there?

The owners wanted a double oven, but you’ll notice, there’s no upper cabinetry in the kitchen at all. And seemingly no refrigerator besides the under-counter wine fridge…but three sinks.

Wow, I like it! It looks like a hidden gem in those woods. Right there with you on the mid-cities thing, but this is tempting.

Isn’t it though? I really like that the master suite is on its own floor!
