Just how how is the North Texas under-$300K market right now? The Buckner Terrace home at 5234 Ponderosa Way was listed Saturday and the deadline for all offers (plural) is today at noon. That’s how hot.

Part of its appeal is its top-to-bottom renovation by Kettering Ideas. We’ve written about them before here, here, and here, and owner Steve Kettering does simply marvelous and memorable work. You’ve got to see the “before” pictures below to properly appreciate the scale of this flip. It’s night and day.

This house has gone from dumpy to divine, a higher-end transitional remodel with a sleek, on-trend feel and new everything. It has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and 1,919 square feet, built in 1965.

Now you’ll find low-E windows, rich hardwoods, new doors and fixtures, new sheetrock and insulation in some areas, recessed lighting, new privacy fence, fresh landscaping…there’s not an inch of this corner-lot property that’s not been made appealing.

What do you want to bet it goes for way over asking price?

Let’s start with the “before” photos above. Just wow. I don’t know if I could see the potential amid the clutter. But Kettering did, and look at the transformation.

Kettering is the creative drive behind his renovations. Realtor Jacqui Bloomquist with Coldwell Banker Apex Realtors, the listing agent for this home, assists in site and property selections. She is also the marketing expert for the finished projects that are made available for sale.

In the under-$300K market, you rarely see such a polished, curated look. This has the feel of a much more expensive home, but its Buckner Terrace location, an East Dallas neighborhood in transition, gives it an affordable price tag. If you are looking to buy in East Dallas and your budget is tight, the pickings are slim in most areas. That’s one reason Buckner Terrace is up-and-coming. It’s minutes from White Rock Lake and close to downtown Dallas, but with lots of homes in the $200K range.

In addition to the improvements mentioned above, this house also offers new gutters, new garage door, removed popcorn ceilings, new plumbing and electrical fixtures, all new bathrooms, and a new kitchen.

The eat-in kitchen, by the way, is lovely, with lots of Shaker-style white cabinets, stainless steel appliances, and a breakfast bar that opens to the family room. The bathrooms look contemporary and fresh, a far cry from the dated and cramped spaces from before.

In back, there’s plenty of room for four-legged friends or kids with lots of grassy green space and a large patio.

This home is listed by Bloomquist for $295,000. Get your offer ready, because the deadline is in a few hours!
