.. A spa? hotel catering? “Daaaang! Walter, are you getting this?”

Listening to a representative from the Four Seasons Hotel and Club, Candy realized her  house was missing out on all the amenities the hotel has to offer. Aside from golf, there’s the spa, catering, swimming pools, kids camp, clubhouse for parties, and more.

Many attendees had that same, “Dang my house doesn’t have that” look as they heard about the “surround” provided by Four Seasons. It was the icing on top of the three special homes CandysDirt.com visited last night at the Enclave in Las Colinas.

In case you missed, we’re talking about 4774, 4782 and 4786 Byron Cir. These are three homes facing the 17th hole at the Four Seasons TPC course that’s been home to the Byron Nelson tournament for many years.

Because of our crazy weather this “winter,” many guests decided to head outdoors to enjoy the views. And who can blame them? Like the many highrises I write about, the windows of these homes call to guests…because being smack on a golf course, the views and space are what make these homes so much more than your typical block of homes.

Listing agent Leigh Ann Barrick of Keller Williams went all out to make us feel welcome. She also had a few surprises for us. In addition to the expected wine and cheese doodles, she brought in the Texas Ale Project to serve craft beers. They’re a built-from-the-ground-up brewery in the Design District run by a couple of couples.

Candy eyeing a quaff with Mitch Campbell as Texas Ale Project founder David Stevens looking on. While Candy didn’t partake, she hooked husband Walter up with a six-pack of their Guinness-like 100-Million Angels Singing…to go.

Here we see the Four Seasons ladies who were on hand to answer everyone’s questions. For the record, I cannot order Four Seasons room service behind the Pink Wall. On the right is Julia O’Hickey, owner of 4774 Byron Cir. and a commercial real estate agent herself.

With Candy hot on the campaign trail, husband Walter (center) decided to surprise Candy at the event. He’s flanked by Vicki Dodd of Dodd Communications and CandysDirt.com writer Valerie Jarvie. On the left is Walter’s plus-one, a young doctor to draw the ladies.

CandysDirt.com executive editor Joanna England fell in love with one master bathroom and whipped out her fisheye lens and stood on lord knows what to get this picture of the dual vanity area. That’s part of the fun for us writers, not surprisingly writing doesn’t afford us $2-million homes, but we’re natural-born voyeurs.

If you’ve ever met Candy, you know everyone wants a piece of Candy. In addition to the guests, several neighbors popped by to check out the homes as well as share their love of the Four Seasons lifestyle.

4786 - Kitchen 2

We can all attest that each of the kitchens is perfect for entertaining. Hostess and agent Leigh Ann Barrick had caterers setup in each kitchen preparing wonderful passed hors d’oeuvres provided by Jenny Scott’s Kitchen Essentials. The company also offers cooking classes (which I always enjoy).

4786 - View 2

Lest we forget the incredible views from each of these properties, here are a few snaps to remind you of what it’s like to live in any of these homes.

4774 - Exterior Back 1

Sound travels.  Sitting out on any of the terraces and balconies of this home, you can hear the babbling whoosh of water. You can toss your white noise generator and just open a window for the relaxing sounds of water.

That’s my takeaway from these homes. While you’re in the thick of Las Colinas, you’ve also got the outdoorsy feel of being in a more country setting. At dawn and dusk, you can watch nature come out to drink from the stream or perhaps have a nibble on the green. During the day, you get uninterrupted views across a perfectly manicured golf course.  And on those days there’s a tournament, you get the excitement of competition on your doorstep. Not a bad lifestyle at all.

Remember:  Highrises, HOAs and renovation are my beat. But I also appreciate modern and historical architecture balanced against the YIMBY movement.  If you’re interested in hosting a Candysdirt.com Staff Meeting event, I’m your guy. In 2016, my writing was recognized with Bronze and Silver awards from the National Association of Real Estate Editors.  Have a story to tell or a marriage proposal to make?
