Party Time: Celebrate “Something Special” Saturday Night With Cody Ellison at Home on Bishop

I love Cody Ellison. You know he and business partner Ken Valencia own Home on Bishop, Dwell on Davis, Bishop Ranch and the Bishop Street Market all down in Bishop Arts. Though they started out with the perfection that is Home on Bishop, business was so darn strong the duo opened a second store in November, 2014, Dwell on Davis: bedding plus art, jewelry, clothing and accessories. Which are the mainstays of all their fabulous stores.

“Buyers crave our locally crafted goods, sold by locally owned stores,” says Ken Valencia, who previously worked for Neiman Marcus and Donna Karan. Cody was in textile and also National Sales Director for Rose Tree Corporation based here in Dallas.

“We do not replenish anything, it lives here one time, when it sells we bring in something as unique and special to replace it,” adds Cody. “Always something new to see everyday!” 

Well we have something new to TELL YOU Saturday night!

Bishop Ranch opened in February 2015. Then the duo purchased Bishop Street Market June 2016.

While shopping centers and big box retailers are tightening belts, their Bishop Arts stores are exploding: sales were up 50 percent in November and more than 60 percent in December, 2016, one of their best years ever.

And now Cody and Ken are sharing the wealth: they are throwing a party to celebrate my City Council campaign this Saturday, from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Home on Bishop store at 502 N. Bishop Ave.  Complimentary valet will be provided located at the corner of Bishop and Seventh St. in front of Hattie’s Restaurant. Just let valet know you’re attending Candy’s party. Food will come from my favorite cake place, Cretias.
