We’re going to get picky today. Our Friday Five Hundred at 6105 Glennox Lane, is a fantastic family home and according to the Dallas Central Appraisal District, this East Lovers Lane traditional is in, well, the East Lovers Lane subdivision. So, don’t let the University Meadows street signs fool you, or the fact Ridgewood Park is only two streets away.

All any of this means is that you are set if you buy this house, because this is one of those areas that is darned hard to beat, but wait — there’s more!

“The sheer size of this home is amazing,” said listing agent Elizabeth Hutchison with the Rosen Berry Group at Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty. Hutchins is co-listing the $540,000 property with Jonathan Rosen. You can’t always believe DCAD so we’re going to get picky again. The house was built in 1969 and is officially reported to be 3,170 square feet but Hutchins had an inkling that might be off and indeed it is. She had the house measured and turns out it’s actually 3,235 square feet. Huge, and perfectly laid out for a family.

“It’s a relatively open concept for an older ranch,” Hutchinson said. “You have adult space with the first floor living areas and master and the bonus room provides great kid space upstairs.”

With four bedrooms, three full and one half bathrooms, plus that great playroom — this is a recipe for family harmony if we ever saw one, because space equals happiness in our book.

Of course, you need outdoor space as well, and this is a unique lot in that you have the benefits of a cul-de-sac space without being on a true cul-de sac. “Two streets dead end into each other,” Hutchison said. “This creates a safe play space in the front yard and the backyard is super welcoming with lush grass and nice flower beds.”

And there’s another bonus. The house is close to Ridgewood Trail and Ridgewood Park, over 10 acres of community space, and Belcher Recreation Center, with their great gymnastics program and much coveted sprayground. It’s important to note the this home sits inside the Dan D. Rogers Elementary attendance zone, which is an up-and-coming, fast-growing elementary campus that is on its way to success. It was named by our education columnist Bethany Erickson as a great “undiscovered” school last year.

It’s simply a great family house and considering the price point, and the fact it was listed only three days ago, we advise you get there fast. It won’t last.
