701 Havenwood Lane South
Die hard ’07 zip coders may recoil at the idea of the east side, but the quaint and quiet community of Woodhaven with its treelined streets and pretty houses certainly merits a look. And just look what $324,500.00 will buy you! Located near the country club, 700 Havenwood Lane South offers 3 bedrooms and 2 updated baths and more than 3300 square feet of haute modern living space.

The rather massive reverse coffered front doors certainly make a majestic first impression. Parquet floors define the entry and yes, that is concrete polished to such perfection that it looks like one continuous slab of an exotic species of stone. Exposed, white painted metal beams support large, airy, open spaces.  Light pours in through high clerestory windows.

The design of the broad semi-floating micro stone clad fireplace is in perfect proportion to the living area. A wall of French windows looks out to the back yard. A previous Coldwell listing, still up, indicates that the house was once in pretty rough shape. The current owners have done a fantastic job bringing the home to top drawer condition.

The bar is so Rat Pack glam that you might think you were in Palm Springs. The light fixture strikes the right note. Ebony stained rattan contrasts beautifully with light natural stone.

The eat in kitchen is a dream with miles of prep surface and a surfeit of storage-the perfect mise en scene for easy entertaining.Woodhaven

The master bedroom is of generous proportions and as light filled as public spaces.

The current owners appear to be an investment group determined to get it right, which explains the professional design appearance of the myriad details. Modern cabinetry and fittings with mirrors floating on windows will make for many sunny mornings.

The polished concrete continues to the back patio. The street as a whole looks an agreeable neighborhood. Downside. Nearby public schools are poorly rated so mortgage savings might be needed for private schooling. The house really seems the perfect abode for singles, empty nesters or TINKs who want to entertain.

The Woodhaven, White Lake Hills, and Meadowbrook areas on the East Side of Fort Worth are underrated,
undervalued, and currently undergoing a resurgence with young professionals and millennial interest.
Sadly the Fort Worth “powers that be” have long neglected the East Side of town in favor of the posh
Rivercrest and Westover Hills part of town, but from a pure location standpoint the East Side is much more centrally located (to DFW and everything else). Plus nearby Nolan Catholic High School is one of the best private schools in the Metroplex. Even though I practice primarily in Dallas, there are some real jewels with great potential can be found in these areas ! If you are looking for bargains – this is not a bad place to look.
