What a way to end the summer. I have known Vicki for a long time, as long as I have been blogging about Dallas real estate. I have even gotten to know her sister — both are darling gals — and turns out, Dallas born and raised Vicki is great friends with some of my good friends from my “mommy” years.

Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty will soon be sending out a press release that says Vicki has joined as a Senior Vice President, a “top producing real estate agent who brings 20 years of home renovation experience and an esteemed residential sales career to Dallas’ luxury brokerage.”

A passion for real estate and dedication to service combined with years of experience and high levels of expertise make Vicki a tremendous asset for clients throughout East Dallas, University Park, Highland Park, Preston Hollow, Uptown, North Dallas, and the surrounding areas of Plano, Frisco and Allen.

Her long list of clients is attributed to her ability to help buyers and sellers envision the potential of every property – from first-time homes to multi-million dollar estates. This added value results in successful sales at the maximum price and in the fewest possible days.

Since her first year of business as a multi-million dollar producer, Vicki has continued to stay at the top of her profession as an expert in luxury real estate. She has been consistently recognized as one of Dallas’ Best Realtors by D Magazine since 2012 and has received the Five Star Award from Texas Monthly Magazine since 2013. Vicki was also named one of Lakewood Advocate’s Top 25 Agents in production in both 2015 and 2016 as well as the Lake Highlands Advocate in 2015.

As you know, we don’t put much weight to many of those magazine “top agent” deals. But everything in this release is the gospel truth and more. She’s a great agent because she works hard, she cares, and she knows how to market a house.

I met VickiVicki White & Candy when she was selling Belle Nora, that historic East Dallas mansion on Garland Road across from the Arboretum. Vicki White was the final listing agent for this grand, beloved landmark that had been on the market since God created earth — November, 2007: a whopping 790 days. She was with Keller Williams at the time. That days on market was clearly an issue of timing; by 2008 we knew where the real estate market was going and it was not pretty. Belle Nora was taken off the market and then re-listed with Vicki  July, 2011. After 169 days, the historic Dallas home closed December 30, 2011. The price was dramatically reduced from the original 2007 asking price of $2,790,000 to $1,875,000.

So yeah, the market was just reviving, and Vicki caught the wind and took that puppy sailing. She also knew instinctively that the story about a house sells it and kind of sells the agent, too. That is why I am so adamant about agents selling the properties, not themselves, and putting resources into that.

The story with Belle Nora was that the buyer, Dave Anderson, said he bought the home for his teenage daughter, as a sweet sixteen birthday gift. Instead of boobs — kidding! (That’s what they said on the radio.) Here is what we wrote back in 2012:

Dave Anderson also has an only child, in this case a daughter, Kevyn Brooke. Kevyn’s mom died when she was only five months old and Dave has raised her with the help of his parents and in-laws. They’ve owned a house in Forest Hills for sixteen years and of course, like Joan Simpson, driven by Bella Nora countless times. Kevyn had joked with her dad about purchasing the house for her…

Well, Dave Anderson just may get Father of the Year, maybe the Century. Dave secretly purchased the house with the help of his agent, Cheryl McBrayer. The day after closing, which would be New Year’s Eve, he told Kevyn he had to drop off something to Vicki at Bella Nora and that they had permission to tour the house.

When they arrived at that stately white mansion, there was a huge pink bow with a gift tag on the front door from McShan Florist.

Unfortunately, Dave Anderson turned out to be a sort of house hoarder who also owned Grandwick, the former Church of Scientology on Buckner, which burned to the ground and then it turned out he had no insurance on the place. Ye gads.

Vicki took that marketing ball and ran right over the goal line. I have written about her properties all over town, and she gets some beauties. We are definitely going to stay tuned to the BFS channel to watch Vicki White. Congrats! Now let’s go out and get into trouble!
