Oh boy! I’ve got a very first look for you at a French Transitional spec home in the heart of Preston Hollow.

Located at 6019 Prestonshire Rd., this beauty is designed by Richard Drummond Davis and built by Colby Craig, a talented young builder creating dynamic homes in the area. Colby is a third-generation builder with Created by CASON. The attention to detail throughout this property is just amazing.

In fact, I could just move right in!

The home is 7,596 square feet, but it doesn’t feel huge — it feels just right for family, entertaining and making truly beautiful memories. The exterior is pure Austin stone with large windows on a hefty 100-by-188 lot near Walnut Hill Lane and Preston Road. There are five spacious bedrooms, six full bathrooms, two half bathrooms, a media room with kitchen, elevator, three-car garage, and a huge covered patio with fireplace and kitchen, perfect for outdoor living. Really, what else can you possibly need? There are flex spaces and formals and more storage than an airport hanger.

It just was completed in June and is listed by Kay Weeks and Danielle Brasher with Ebby Halliday Realtors for $2.495 million.

“It’s a gorgeous home,” said Weeks. “I’ve represented Colby for about three years now and he is appealing to today’s buyer, using the finest materials and creating open floor plans, nice outdoor living areas, huge closets, wonderful millwork and perfect spaces for entertaining. You really have to see this French Transitional home to believe it — it’s just marvelous.”

I got an advance tour with Colby and Danielle I can’t wait to share with you! Come look at 6019 Prestonshire, and I will point out all the thoughtful details that make this home so very unique like … one for red, one for white, and one for champagne … ha ha come see:

Walking inside, the home has a traditional French layout with the central hallway. I love the smooth walls, cool colors — this home has a great feel immediately. And let’s talk about those floors: richly stained hardwoods that carry throughout the home. No carpet here!

“Colby is aware of the number of people with allergies in Texas and builds his homes without carpet to prevent homeowners from having to deal with that headache,” Brasher said. “His hardwoods are top-of-the-line and laid out in beautiful patterns, too.”

Off the formal living area is a wine bar with three, count them, three wine refrigerators — one for red, one for white, and one for champagne! What a thoughtful detail. Past the entryway and formal living and dining rooms, the great room is absolutely fabulous. That fireplace is not the usual cast-stone surround, but instead is one huge slab of highly polished travertine.

Turn around, and at the other end of the great room is the open kitchen. You’ll find a white arabesque tile backsplash by Ann Sacks, and honed Calcutta gold marble for the countertops. There’s a huge island, two sparkly chandeliers, and lots of extras that make this true luxury. Because a home like this sees a lot of entertaining, it’s built with Thermador Professional Series appliances, including three 30” ovens, one of which is a steam oven, a built-in microwave, two dishwashers, and a butler’s pantry. The nearby laundry room offer an additional refrigerator and sink, and sets up nicely for a catering kitchen.

The downstairs master suite is large, at about 500 square feet, with gorgeous hardwoods in a herringbone pattern (so French!), built-ins, and another polished travertine fireplace. Nine-foot glass-and-wood doors lead out to the travertine patio. The master bathroom is a marble marvel, with heated marble floors, a freestanding Toto deep-soaking tub with soft headrest, dual sinks, and a walk-in frameless glass shower with two showerheads. Off the bathroom is a closet to die for, probably one of the largest in Preston Hollow, with an organized closet system and two built-in square dressers.

Take the elevator upstairs to see the media room, which offers a full refrigerator, dishwasher and sink, and the same look as the kitchen with that beautiful arabesque tile backsplash.

Four of the bedrooms are on the second floor, all spacious and with their own ensuite bathrooms.

The outside of this house has luxe outdoor living, with a 600-square-foot covered patio with fireplace and full kitchen, including an icemaker, grill, refrigerator, and sink. There’s also a large island for bar seating, and plenty of grassy green space, too.
