It’s My Mansion: Westbury Park Condo Offers Over 1,000 SqFt for Under $200K

The real estate world is be buzzing with news about the sale of Walnut Place (aka the Crespi Estate) for somewhere in the ballpark of $100 million this week.
But in the It’s My Mansion occasional feature on CandysDirt, we look at newsworthy properties that have fewer zeros on the end of the list price.
Take, for example, the newly listed condo at 4947 N. Hall St. It’s located near Lemmon Avenue and the Dallas North Tollway, just a hop, skip, and jump from Oak Lawn. With 1,072 square feet, two bedrooms, one full bathroom, and a powder room, it offers a lot of space for well under $200K.
The Westbury Park Condominiums were constructed in 1954, and reflect their era with quaint courtyards, lots of mature trees, landscaping, a community swimming pool, and a serene environment.
Monthly HOA fees are $308 and the condo was listed Jan. 9 by Kristi Reinertsen with RE/MAX DFW Associates for $170,000.
Westbury Park Condos are well maintained, and the red doors are a cheery touch (as are the roses). This condo has a covered parking space, an open living room and dining space, and an updated kitchen. Those are real hardwood floors you see, and the bathrooms are updated, as well. A laundry closet is located upstairs off second bedroom, and the master bedroom features two walk-in closets. The fenced back area is teeny, but not too small for a grill.
We think this condo is super cute, and priced to sell. What do you think?
“…a hope, skip, and a jump…” What are we hoping for here? For me, I would hope that the stove located next to a wall wouldn’t catch on fire or at least that wall is painted with an easy-to-clean paint. The outdoor space in back is teeny-tiny- is that an electrical line overhead? – as is the laundry.
Yeah that stove is in a weird place. Is it vented? I think the price is really great though…
This could be a great income-producing property, though I agree about the placement of the range. It’s a little odd.
While I agree with the questionable range placement (hello, switch it with the fridge!), our porn goggles are blinding us to this being a reasonably-priced starter condo in good nick … in Oaklawn which is seeing tons of building lately. There’s another complex on the west side of Cedar Springs off Kings offering equally nice and renovated 2-story units called Monte Bella.
Check the HOA fees. I doubt $308 is correct. The HOA has raised the fees 6 of the last 7 years. Always excuses for the increase.
