If there was ever a deal, this is it. When I asked Dallas City Center Director Kevin Caskey about this house, he told me that there was already tons of interest in it. That was three days ago, and this home hasn’t been on MLS for more than a day! Truly, homes in the $300K ranch are a hot ticket in Dallas, and one in Lake Highlands with some really fabulous updates is going to have a full dance card.

I love this home for so many reasons, namely the clean, uncluttered updates that this seller did. Trust me, this home may look a little bland from the curb, but it’s a knockout inside! Jump to see the photos!

We weren’t kidding! This two-story, four-bedroom, two-and-a-half-bath transitional beauty has tons of sleek and chic interior finishes. We love the dark wood floors and the bright white fireplace. The open floorplan that links the living and dining areas to the kitchen is perfect for entertaining. You get 2,380 square feet, two living spaces, a downstairs master suite, a screened rear porch, and gorgeous updated baths at 9937 Larchbrook for just $374,500. It’s getting harder and harder to find homes in this area under $400K, so we are thanking our lucky stars that this beauty just hit the market. I’m sure it’s already booked up with showings, though!

“It is an awesome home for a large family, with the open floor plan and all the secondary bedrooms upstairs,” Caskey said. “Walls were opened up to give it a very contemporary feel, but I love the fact that the renovation was done in a way that it can lend itself to modern or traditional.”

We have to agree. This home can suit many people and their diverse decor tastes. Add some pops of color and this would be a fantastic transitional or contemporary. Put in some sleek, clean-lined furniture and it’s incredibly modern. Bring in warm tones and timeless touches and it makes a great traditional. It’s all up to you!

The kitchen is gorgeous, with a separate pantry, beautiful countertops, and an eat-in island with gas range. Stainless steel appliances complete the look, and there is plenty of light streaming in through the large windows. Plus, the area is fantastic, with tons of young families nearby. You won’t lack play dates or good schools.

“I actually live in the neighborhood but don’t let that keep you away,” Caskey joked. “Lake Highlands is my home and I love that we are a short walk to White Rock Lake and only 7 minutes from North Park Mall.  People are flocking to the area for the great homes, trees, hills, the Lake and we can’t forget the schools.”

Come spring, this home will be great for backyard barbecues and getting to know your neighbors better. That screened porch will be wonderful for hosting dinners without worrying about bugs, and the grassy backyard will be wonderful for children to catch fireflies and run around. It’s positively wonderful!

Love the interior and how flexible it can be for whatever your decorating tastes are. My next house will have a screened porch similar to this one, such a wonderful asset during the awful mosquito season.
