We are so very, very proud of her but we are not at all surprised. Sherry Hayslip, a dear friend for years and owner/founder of Sherry Hayslip Interiors won the Interior Designer of the Year Award at the 26th Annual ARTS Awards on Friday, January 16, 2015.

The ARTS Awards was established by the non-profit ART and is produced by Dallas Market Center. It is the premier international awards program committed to recognizing those in retailing, manufacturing, design, and representation.

Hayslip graciously accepted the award with Project Managers, Bree Hyatt and Tabatha Hamm. by her side. Her equally talented daughter, Peyton, was nearby.

“I feel incredibly humbled to have been a part of such an incredible group of finalists and am truly honored to be recognized by our peers from ARTS Awards for something we love to do,” said Sherry.

Sherry’s other recent recognitions include a national honor at the 2013 ASID Elevate Awards and first place in three categories at the 2014 ASID Design Ovation Awards. Hayslip consistently is named one of the Best Designers in Dallas by local shelter publications and has been featured in The Andrew Martin International Interior Design Review, the renowned reference book and “best of” guide of interior designers around the world.

Established in 1975, Sherry Hayslip Interiors, Inc. serves a client list that is a “who’s who” of leading national figures from the business, arts, corporate and sports worlds. Let’s just say her clients are among the most jet-setting in North Texas. Guided by her passion for design, Hayslip is personally involved in every project her firm undertakes. Her range of experience as one of the premier interior designers in the United States is a reflection of her insistence on thoroughly researching every aspect of the design aesthetics in which she works.

“Our philosophy continues to be emphasized by the unique tastes and values of each individual client,” she says.

She is married to legendary architect Cole Smith. The two are a force of design nature and have their imprints on some of the most beautiful and significant homes in Dallas often written about on these pages.

Even before 1975 when she first hung her shingle, I’ve been acquainted with and held in high regard Sherry’s keen talents in the realm of design. While “Best of…” and “…of the Year” have appeared frequently alongside her name, it’s always a pleasure to have an opportunity to exclaim, “Yippee for Sherry and her team!”
