Could This Be Bluffview’s Next Hot Real Estate Listing? (Hands Off!)

Dave PM house

In an interview with darling Margaux Anbouba over at D Home — who I will always love because she was in court with me, as a reporter, and as confused as I was —  our Dave Perry-Miller talks about how he got into real estate (he was 6) and his deep, long time love of homes and real estate. What he didn’t tell Margaux is about his many second homes across the U.S.

Well, I will spill the beans: Dave has a home in Nantucket, and house in Virginia built in 1929 that is on the National Historic Landmark, the same designation that Mount Vernon has. (That Mount Vernon, not our’s.) He also has had a home in Palm Springs, Arizona and Bisbee Arizona. At one point I teased him about having a key party: throw all those keys into the middle of the room and let us pick which one we want to stay at!

But don’t think this collector of real estate stays at his homes all that much: he’s way too busy selling real estate here in Dallas. But don’t you love a Realtor who practices what he preaches? He buys those homes as investments, and keeps them leased up, sells when the market is nigh. (I have always been suspect of agents who don’t own.)  All are on VRBO.com (check it out) but my bet is they are booked up solid. Because even when I’ve asked, they are booked.

Dave also said he is thinking about getting into a bit more contemporary home one of these days, eying Knox Henderson where he also owns an extra house or two:

I also have one of the last little houses in Knox-Henderson, which I bought years ago. Probably I was renovate that house to make it somewhat modern.

Is he putting his little Bluffview cottage on one-half acre that he has had forever on the market? This is “Stonegate Cottage” on Stonegate, right across the street from Yu Darvish.

I’ve already told him I have first dibs: reminds me of our Laurel Hill in Maine!

Dave could not be a nicer, more humble guy – a respectable business man growing his empire from the ground up with some of the most respected agents in the industry. Good advice from a local legend. If I were a rookie, I would listen to this guy…….congrats DPM on well deserved success.
