Adorable Brick and Stone Cottage Inside Stonewall Jackson Attendance Area

We know that Lakewood Elementary is extremely sought after, with homes that would have sold for the mid $200ks a year and some change ago, selling for upwards of $325K in most cases. Of course, then there’s the M Streets area that feeds into Stonewall Jackson Elementary. It’s sought after for two reasons — not only is this area cozy and intimate feeling, but it’s extremely walkable and close to shopping and entertainment.

This home has a lot going for it besides the great curb appeal and fantastic location: It’s owned by Republic Property Group’s Tony Ruggeri! His company is behind those fantastic North Texas communities such as Light Farms, Phillips Creek Ranch, and Lantana!

You can own this brick and stone cottage in the Hal Moseley’s subdivision at 6159 Kenwood for just $420,000. Well, that is, if the current deal falls through. It’s only been on the market for 14 days and someone has already snatched this beauty up!

I can see why, because this gorgeous home had a brand-new addition built on in 2013, giving this house a gorgeous master bathroom and a mudroom that are show-stoppers. The Ruggeri’s home renovation was featured in The Advocate last year, which you can see below. I totally sympathize with Ashley, who was pregnant for much of the renovation. We re-did our kitchen when I was in my third trimester, and let me tell you, it was no picnic!

So yes, this home is fantastic for a small family who wants great location, a wonderful master bathroom, a completely functional mud room, and cute original details like that beautiful living room fireplace, the lovely hardwood floors, and the kitchen breakfast nook that feels like a booth in your favorite diner or greasy spoon!

There are two bedrooms plus an office/nursery off the master bedroom, two full baths, and 1,764 square feet in this 1942 traditional. It really is beautiful with tons of great design features and a sweet little backyard. I’m not surprised at all that this little gem of a home moved fast. What about you?

Before Lakewood was the IT school, it was Stonewall. Great school, charming home. Love East Dallas.
