Inwood Home of the Week: Run for the (Lakewood) Hills To Catch This New Contemporary From JLD Custom Homes

Welcome Home! Modern Elevation offers 3530 of fantastic living S

Jeff Dworkin has done it again. The master home builder, and current president of the Dallas Builder’s Association — you cannot spell his name without “w-o-r-k” — builds high quality homes generally east of Central, usually in the 3500 to 4500 square foot range with luxury finish outs. But Jeff is really known for getting you in to a brand spanking new home for under one million. We are a little prejudiced: he’s one of our CandysDirt-approved home builders. In order to be on our site, our home builders have to make it through an obstacle course of criteria and give us a list of references who we actually talk to. These are the folks who we would hire in a heartbeat to build our own homes– can’t say that about every builder in town, no sir.

But this time, he has sleeked it up, sharpened the corners with a totally modern elevation on an oversized treed lot in the Enclave. 1807 Tucker Drive is a Cul du Sac street — love them — loaded with new homes, all by award-winning local builders. It’s a few steps from Santa Fe Trail, White Rock Lake and the new YMCA, which my daughter tells me is going to be awesome and she is going to join.

As pretty and toned as it is from the front drive up exterior, the home’s “ah ha” moment comes when you walk in the front door. Rich hand-scraped hardwoods great you, as well as plenty of natural light. The downstairs floor plan is open and flows, from the elegant “wedding photo” staircase to the dark, rich hardwoods. There is natural light everywhere, and the home is as green built as Greenland: tankless water heater, high SEER HVAC, extra wall insulation to keep utilities low. Plus the home has everything you find in million dollar plus cousins: a full mudroom, gorgeous kitchen with gleaming stainless appliances all by Kitchen Aid, beautiful slabs of unusual granite — we must ask Jeff what that counter is made of. Stunning! You get four bedrooms, three full baths (one is Jack and Jill) and one powder room, huge master spa bath with walk-in shower, two living areas, a covered porch, and huge closets. It’s like they have squeezed all the waster out of 3530 square feet. Oh and get this: Lakewood Elementary is where the little ones will go. Jeff is asking $749,900 and the good folks at Inwood Mortgage are more than willing to get you financed so you can be in this cute thing lickety split. That’s what happens when you use a local mortgage company: they take a personal interest in getting you into your home and enjoying life. They’d also like it if you invite them over for a little barbeque once you get that grill fired up…kind of all in the family!

Thanks Candy and the great folks at Inwood Mortgage. One of my favorite homes we’ve built. To tour this beautiful new Home, give Gia Marshello with Coldwell Banker a call at 1 (214) 616-2568.
