Vacation Home Week: Escape to Texas Hill Country Heaven at Boot Ranch’s Gorgeous Overlook Cabins

Staying true to Vacation Home Week, we had to find a phenomenal property that would make a great spot to run to should you get the itch to get out of town.

And of course, we love Boot Ranch, a gorgeous community in the Texas Hill Country with golf, scenery, and luxury accommodations.

“Here you’ll find a delicious tension between rural and refined,” writes Jeannie Ralston for The New York Times. “With the vineyards and boutique farms (lavender, olives), some people make comparisons to Napa Valley or even Provence (France). But those assessments ignore something fundamental: The Hill Country – being Texas at its finest – is like nowhere else in the world.”

Not only that, but Boot Ranch has done an amazing job of creating a place that defines the history, traditions, and character of Central Texas. That would be Boot Ranch’s beautiful Overlook Cabins. Exceptionally located on the property and peering over the golf course’s signature 10th hole, the Overlook Cabins at Boot Ranch preserve a bit of Hill Country history and architecture. The design team includes Austin-based Chas Architects and Rachel Mast Interior Design. Glorious combination of rustic charm and luxury, isn’t it?

“Each half-acre Overlook Cabin features turnkey plans for one- or two-bedroom cabins, guest cottages, barn-style garages and outdoor courtyards,” says Sean Gioffre with Boot Ranch. “With the charm of Fredericksburg in mind, the Overlook Cabins feature historic details and local materials.”

Creating special places requires understanding today’s needs and the history, traditions and character of place, and the design team did a magnificent job of that. Of course, you can hire Boot Ranch’s dream team for an extra fee to decorate your Overlook Cabin. Each cabin rests on a half or one-and-a-half acre lot with all-in prices starting in the $800ks. Prices include lot, membership, and completed one- to 8-bedroom structure, which comes unfurnished.

Located just five miles north of Fredricksburg, Boot Ranch takes advantage of the rolling topography, making memorable views and a matchless golf experience on the Hal Sutton-designed championship course. With endless amenities —  a spa, a bar, both casual and fine dining — you’ll rest easy at this top-ranking master-planned community.

“Undoubtedly, this place bears the pride of Texas. With local attractions, a family focus and first-class amenities, the people who live at Boot Ranch really do have it all,” says Boot Ranch’s Andrew Ball. “Whether someone is seeking respite in a customized retreat, entertaining friends during a golf weekend or enjoying peaceful country nights, an Overlook Cabin is an ideal setting for people to reconnect.”
