Mike and Allison Modano Just Put Their Kelsey Square Home on the Market: Parenthood!
Share News:
We know that Mike and his precious, vivacious wife, Allison, are expecting twins — a boy and a girl! — sometime this summer. And they have a big, huge, wonderful 9244 square foot house in Kelsey Square, near Strait Lane, on almost 1 full acre of land. Love that area!
And they just listed that home for sale on March 23, my anniversary!!!, with Joan Eleazer of Briggs Freeman Sothebys!
And we know Mike also has a home in Preston Hollow, that is stunning, at 6424 Mimosa Lane. That pup is on the market with David Nichols and is pending at this very moment. Mimosa, not too far from Rhonda Aikman, is 7250 square feet, was listed last May, and was originally listed at $2,495,000.
It was reduced to $2,295,000 and that must have been the magic number. Modano and his first wife, model Willa Ford, bought the house in 2007 and filled it with beautiful Golden Retrievers. The home is on 0.433 acre and features both sleek stone and hand-scraped wood floors, two staircases, fabulous formals, an oversized kitchen, temperature-controlled wine closet, a master bedroom suite with steam shower, three bedroom suites, a huge exercise room, a gameroom with wet bar and humidor, a backyard that is a total oasis with a putting green, brick gazebo with fireplace plus one of the most gorgeous saltwater pools and spas I have ever seen.
Like, I would have bought Mimosa in a heartbeat, then whipped up a mimosa! Stay tuned for news on the buyer…
But the current Modano estate!
Kelsey Square is definitely more of an estate property on a beautiful, treed acre, that has been updated. The color palette is very light and these photos do not do the home justice because this is what it looked like before Allison moved in – we know she has added her special touch. (Joan does not have any photos with the house yet, probably because the listing is so dang new.) There is carrera marble in the gourmet, well-stocked kitchen and also in most baths, scraped hardwoods again and marble flooring. The kitchen has Viking appliances, an island, a breakfast room and adjacent office/morning room. The master has a great bath, ginormous closets and complete views of the expansive yard and pool. There are formals, a Great room and study, both with fireplaces. Upstairs is another living area and gameroom, five guest bedroom suites, an exercise room and enough storage to hold five sets of twins’ gear. There is a four car garage to hold everyone’s car in 15 years, plus the best outdoor kitchen and living area south of LBJ.
For all of this, the Modanos are asking $3,495,000.
Why are they moving? Mimosa is pending, and I am more than sure that Allison wants to build her own space. And I bet I know just who will be doing that building…
