Some Preston Hollow East Homeowners Are NOT Saying "No" to the Transwestern Multi-Fam at Preston & Northwest Highway
Share News:
Charles Sartain, who lives on Northwood and is pretty darn close to the proposed Transwestern development, says in a Letter to the Editor of the Dallas Morning News last week there IS a need for upscale, luxury apartments in the area and he would like to see a traffic study and more information. He also says “no negotiations” are not the prevailing opinions in the neighborhood, which stretches from Hillcrest all the way to the Dallas North Tollway, including homeowners with the ’50′s ranches on Northwood to the tree canopied and creek-lined estates of Old Preston Hollow.
“No negotiation” and “squelch it before it gets to zoning” are not the prevailing opinions in the neighborhood. The protesters say they want somebody to fight for them. We want a plan commission and council who will fight for a rational debate and vote for a reasonable result.
This is getting more and more interesting by the second!

I fully agree with this idea of at least lets see some studies and have debate.
I was JUST sitting at the intersection yesterday thinking about this. On the sw corner of said interseaction you have a huge office building that is like 10 stories or so; on the east side you have not ONE, but TWO 20+ story hi-rises from the 1960's . And just down to the east you have all those new apartments and condos that have been built over the last ten years. So can someone explain to me how THIS developemnt is different?
Dallas needs more density, not less.
And maybe this will FINALLY spur a rational debate over putting a tunnell under Norhtwest Highweay for rapid mass transit, and a releiver to the congestion.
It seems most of the NO people still think this is Preston Hollow ala 1930 when it was all farms.
