Mega Million Movement in Preston Hollow: It's Going to be A Great Holiday Season at Mathews-Nichols…

Our market is healthy, but we still need to see some movement in the mega estate department. Really rich people need to buy and sell. As one source told me, the Dallas market is a little top heavy for $10 to $20 million dollar homes. We know things will be hotter once those big mamas start moving.

Well, they are. Recall 4617 Meadowood? One of my favorite homes in my favorite hood, we covered it as a Monday Morning Millionaire a few weeks ago. This delicious Bob Thompson-crafted estate on almost two acres has it all — slate roof, stone exteriors, five bedroom suites, three half baths, four fireplaces which will tide you over with warmth come another Dallas Ice Storm, and everything just made to perfection on THREE levels. This home, like many in the over six million price range, has been on the market for, oh shall we say, a bit: since early 2012. It started out with an almost $8.5 million dollar price tag.

Well it gives me great pleasure to tell you that Erin Mathews has 4617 Meadowood, asking price of $7,995,000, under contract. Fantastic!

Go further west, it gets even better. David Nichols, clever man, sold 9008 Briarwood, built by Cy Barcus and absolute perfection, this past summer. The home had been listed at $10,500,000. Someone told me it sold in the mid to high $800,000 range.

Please note, there still have been no 9, 10, 11 or even 12 million dollar sales in this area. In fact, the last mega sale was Kelcy Warren’s purchase of the Lacerte estate, correct me if I am wrong.
