Mimosa Front

You don’t see a whole lot of midcentury modern homes in this area of North Dallas, so expect this gorgeous home at 7208 Mimosa to go fast! This is one of those homes that begs for a great twilight exterior shot — it showcases the details of what makes this home so stunning! The symmetry! The clerestory windows! The ample front yard! All of it really draws you in from the curb — a great asset when it comes to marketing a property, that’s for sure.

Mimosa Foyer

Built in 1963 and updated here and there, this home is a great for a family with style. It has four bedrooms, three and a half baths, and more than 2,800 square feet. The vaulted ceilings make the space feel much larger, too, which is a bonus. I also love the exposed brick in the living and breakfast rooms, too.

Mimosa Living and Dining

What I am not loving, however, is all of the carpet. I could understand a large, graphic rug in the living room, and maybe another in the dining area, but wall-to-wall carpeting is a trend that happily died in the 80s. The new owner will probably want to put in some cool hardwoods in the living areas and bedrooms and invest in some fabulous rugs from SMINK or Scott + Cooner, perhaps. It would definitely be an improvement.

Mimosa Breakfast

I do love the bright paint and very simple cabinetry in the kitchen, which keeps this room true to mid-century style. There are stainless steel appliances, though, that keep the kitchen from feeling dated, and the gleaming black countertops are a perfect foil for that. I am a little disappointed by the backsplash, which would have been perfect as a glass subway tile or mosaic. Easy to fix, though!

Mimosa Kitchen

I do love all of the French doors and floor-to-ceiling windows that make this home a truly bright space. The master bedroom benefits from that, too, with an ample size that really capitalizes on the sliding glass doors, which open to the backyard. The master suite has two separate vanities and a shower/tub combo. It’s not spa-like, but it gets the job done, right?

Of course, many people will just see the midcentury modern characteristics and just jump on this Brandon Stewart listing, which is priced at $585,000. I know I would!
