Inwood Mortgage House of the Week: You'll Agree That the Views From This Luxe Fairview Lair are More Than "Fair"

905 Tranquility IHOTW I am hot on Fairview. I have always been hot on Fairview because the homes are gorgeous and the topography has a bit of Hill Country to it. I stop at Watters Creek whenever I am in the area, and friends who live up there LOVE the schools, love the community.

But just yesterday I was interviewed by Realtor.com about McKinney, just up the road. They asked me why McKinney was so hot that it has been named one of the top ten communities in the U.S. by nearly every publication. I told them that when the Wright Amendment goes bye bye next October, likely the McKinney National Airport, which has a new, one-year old 7000 foot runway, will pick up a lot of private jet service. That is going to accelerate the real estate market like crazy. Don’t you know a lot of CEOs and execs will want to live near that airport? Maybe, just maybe sometime down the road there will even be a few commercial flights out of McKinney — sweet!

But Fairview is just far enough away — so you won’t hear the noise! It will remain tranquil.905 Tranquility Lane Fairview

Enter 905 Tranquility Drive. A custom built, Rocky Mountain Colorado-style stunner built in 2008 (looks brand-spankin’ new) on a one acre corner lot, with views of the community lakes and greenbelt right next door.905 Tranquility Aerial905 Tranquility Den 905 Tranquility Kitchen 2 905 Tranquility Kitchen 905 Tranquility Dining 905 Tranquility Living 905 Tranquility Foyer 905 Tranquility Game Room

The house is as loaded as Fort Knox, and seems to favor grand knotty alderwood, flagstone and rough-hewn floors. There are double entry doors of this wood, trowel walls, and more knotty alder moldings. Right down there in the entertainment areas you have a wine cellar and Butler’s Pantry. The step-up library with built-in bookcases and storage closets is a nice way to conceal a working office.

The Great Room is pretty great — more of that flagstone floor, vaulted ceiling and still more knotty alderwood  in the form of beams. Decked out kitchen with professional stainless-steel appliances, of course, granite, islands, pretty painted cabinets and large breakfast area.

Like most million dollar plus homes in Fairview, you get a main floor gameroom and media room, which is actually a “tranquil” touch: no reverberation of sound through the walls or floor. The media room even has a full kitchenette and, you guessed it: alderwood!.

But the “Master Retreat” is what really turns me on in this house, pardon my pun. Stone, stone and more stone — fireplace, carved mantelpiece, and bath. There are huge double vanities, and a huge enclosed spa-like shower and jetted tub. There is even a beverage/coffee bar and adjoining exercise room. The closets are to-die for and may be as big as a runway up there in McKinney. I think a Master Retreat should be one where you could sink in for days and never have to poke your head out of bed, out of the tub, or even (sigh) out of the exercise room. This one is that kind of retreat.

Upstairs are the kiddos rooms with a built-in Study/Tech Center and Game/Play Room. Two large covered decks offer nice views of the sparkling community lakes when one needs a study break. The yard is straight from an Architectural Digest photo shoot with it’s gorgeous pool, spa, Loggia and outdoor living area, including a stone Fireplace and Grill Station. Asking $1,595,000. March on down to Inwood Mortgage — they have branches up north — and tell them to take a chill pill with you and hand out a loan so you can live on Tranquility Lane. Everyone’s blood pressure might just plummet!905 Tranquility Backyard
