Jan Showers’ "Glamorous Retreats" Out Today, Gives Beautiful Peek Into Dallas Vacation Homes

Jan Showers __Glamorous Retreats__Let’s face it: if you live in Dallas and have not heard of Jan Showers, you are not awake. Today (still) is Oct. 1, the day Dallas interior designer (and glam glam Turtle Creek resident) Jan Showers releases her second book, Glamorous Retreats. It was inspired by her vast work in the interior design industry, and is a mate to her first book, Glamorous Rooms.

What I especially love is that this book is loaded with photos of never-been-published second, third, and even fourth homes of clients. There are twelve vacation homes and retreat homes from all over the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean: Nantucket, Harbor Island, Palm Beach, even Becky and Steve Meyer’s ski retreat home in Bachelor Gulch, Colorado.

With more than 200 hundred never-before-seen photographs, Glamorous Retreats showcases the renowned designer’s elegant eclecticism, which blends Hollywood high style, mid-century modernism, and classic 18th century French styles.  Each home transports its owners, as well as the reader, to a vision of tasteful yet accessible glamour – all set against the backdrop of stunning resort destinations.

Talk about House Porn — this is Room Porn! It is also so refreshing to see second homes so very well put together. I know what I may be buying for holiday gifts this year — Glamorous Retreats!Jan Showers __Glamorous Retreats__.png1
