Friday Five Hundred: Finally, a Spacious Downtown Condo That You Can Actually Afford!

1999 McKinney LRThis is one of those rare finds that restores my faith in downtown living. It’s spacious, sexy and will not break the bank! Look, just look at all that is offered here, including 22 foot tall ceilings!

This two-story loft also has upgrades from here to Fort Worth — and I think you can see that far from those windows — stunning wood cabinets, hardwood and scored concrete floors, designer lighting, top grade appliances. The master suite is huge, 21 by 12 feet, with something you just are not going to find in most condos — a sitting room with downtown views.

Next thing you know, they will be building condos with wrapping rooms. Or morning rooms!

The kitchen is not one of those typical condo two-counter deals — I saw one typical condo kitchen the other day and thought it was the bar! This one has a granite island, Dacor gas cooktop, Asko dishwasher and a wine cooler plus a decent amount of counter space. The baths all have granite and marble, and the terrace has downtown views that go on forever. As if the place isn’t over the top roomy, there are two garages and an owner storage unit for golf clubs, memorabilia, whatever your heart wants to put there.

Very, very nice building: 1999 McKinney was built in 2000 and is now right in the thick of everything urban, from restaurants to Victory to Klyde Warren Park. All this for $599,000. I want to see more! Listed by Deborah Arnold with Personette & Associates.

Update: I asked Deborah for more information on this very cool unit. The HOA fees are $1040 a month and that covers two assigned parking spaces in the secured garage, storage unit, water, gas, trash and most of the heating and cooling costs since they operate on water source heat pumps. She says the owner pays electricity to run a fan over the chilled or hot water, and it averages about $100 a month.  The HOAs also cover insurance on the entire structure including all of the finishes inside each condo, plus high speed internet, a 24/7 concierge, maintenance and housekeeping staff.  There is a beautiful pool/hot tub with outdoor kitchen and fire pit for the owners to enjoy.
