Estate Sale SOS: Contents of Champ D’Or in Huge Estate Sale Today in Hickory Creek Near Denton

11558725_2_6This is one you cannot miss. I am trying to re-schedule my Friday just so I can head over to experience the glittering estate sale of Shirley Goldfield, once the mistress of Champ D’Or. Surely you recall that 48,000 Hickory Creek manse that was auctioned off last year? You know how they say it takes a Village? Well, it took a nation of agents to sell this home including Joan Eleazer Briggs-Freeman Sothebys, Doris Jacobs Allie Beth Allman, Greg Cagle Ebby Halliday, Cindy Frey Coldwell Banker, Elaine Whitfield & Mathew Edwards, Dave Perry-Miller, Joan Eleazer again and again. The mammoth estate was auctioned off last March by Concierge Auctions, in collaboration with Briggs Freeman Sothebys and Joan Eleazer. The reserve was set at $10.3 million, but I heard it sold for somewhere around $8.7 million.11558725_19_5

That mansion had been on the market for about ten years.

ANYHOO, the deal is that Mrs. Goldfield, the original owner and designer of Champ D’ Or Mansion, has filled a 13,000 square foot main home (across the street from Champs) with most everything that was in the house and then some.11558725_1_6

Today, Friday, it all has to go! Boom! Crystal, art, original Thomas Kinkade Paintings, Donald Sultan, Emilio Sanchez, Emanuel Romano “Wild Turkey”,John Zinsser, other art from around the world, books from the extensive 2 story library, French Louis XVI Gilded carved wood center table, Charles Pollock Dining table and 14 chairs, 18th Century Armoires, Louis XV style Giltwood Vitrine, Lladro Cinderella, Magnificent clocks, 19th century Louis XV style iron table base with Texas Pearl stone top, the Custom Chanel Rug in her closet, a nearly 2000 sq ft master closet filled with designer labels such as Chanel, Escada, St. John, plus 1000′s of pieces of designer clothes and gowns. There’s a magnificent Brunswick pool table, Candlewick pattern glass collection, Lenox, cranberry glass, Beautiful French Epergnes, the finest of oriental and designer rugs, designer patio and wicker furniture, tools,, yard and ranch equipment. There is also Ms. Goldfield’s personal 2006 custom made Pink VW Bug Convertible with only 860 original miles.

Chanel RugGates will open for parking at 6 am. Doors open 9:00am Friday June 28th! 1850 Turbeville Road, Hickory Creek. Please note that is NOT the original mansion, but a large, lovely home across from it.

When you go up there, take a look/see around. Centurion bought 1745 Turbeville Road, 20 acres that includes a 13,439 square foot house with six bedrooms, five and a half baths, three car garage listed for $5.6 million, which is exactly what it sold for according to MLS. The home also has a pool with cabana, sauna and kitchen in cabana, commercial grade construction and 3000 square feet of patios. Centurion also bought 1850 Turbeville Road, listed for $15 million, that being 116 acres including a 12,588 square foot home with five bedrooms, four and a half baths, billiard room, covered terraces, ten stall horse barn, log cabin home, riding corral and private lake loaded with ducks and geese. The game plan is, I think, to create a housing development here that may very well be called Gold Fields surrounding the House of Gold! Prices will begin in the $400,000 range with minimum square footage of 2500 square feet – most will likely be around 3000 to 4000.

I saw Realtor Marilyn Hoffman a few weeks ago at the patron party for the Dallas Art Fair. She told me she once brought Mr. Goldfield an offer for $44 million he turned down. Another high profile agent tells me he was almost kicked out of the house when he offered to take the listing for an asking price of no more than $29 million back in 2009. I think it was Greg Cagle with Ebby who got the best offer of all, something close to $50 million “back in the day”.11558725_8_6 11558725_10_6 11558725_12_6 11558725_14_5 11558725_15_5 11558725_16_5 11558725_17_5 11558725_18_5
