Thursday Three Hundred: Adorable Cottage in Coronado Hills Has an Amazing Saltwater Pool to Cool Off in This Summer

OK, so technically, this house is $100 shy of $300,000, but we’ll overlook that this Thursday because 6843 Coronado Ave. has an absolute stunner of a saltwater pool for this price range, and considering our climate, we all need to start preparing for summer’s sweltering temperatures.
Built in 1946, this charmer in Lakewood Hills has three bedrooms, one-and-a-half baths, two living areas, and did I mention the saltwater pool in the backyard? Oh yeah, THERE’S A SALTWATER POOL IN THE BACKYARD.
The saltwater pool, which was designed by Riverbend Sandler, pretty much sells this house for me. It’s super cute on the inside with excellent neutral paint and great art on the walls. I love that some of the original features were kept intact such as the chair rail in the dining room and the arched passage way. There’s 1,328 square feet inside this home, which is enough room for a family of three, but I’d want a second full bath if I had two kids. Still, it’s a great value at $299,900, especially considering that it’s in the Lakewood Elementary and Woodrow Wilson High School attendance zone.
The kitchen could use a few upgrades — I’d put in stainless appliances and fixtures when installing a new countertop. And I can’t really tell from this angle the size of the kitchen, but it doesn’t look big enough to have a breakfast area. You’ll have to request a showing to find that out.
The master is pretty standard as far as size goes, but I love the view it has — you know, THE SALTWATER POOL (I think I’m losing my voice from all this virtual shouting!). The den, which appears to be a late add-on to the back of the house, also has excellent views of the backyard.
Now, the full bath — the only full bath in this home — is really kind of cramped. There is no way two adults could get ready at the same time in this tiny bathroom, so don’t even try imagining it. But, depending on what’s on the other side of those two bathroom walls, you could make this into a much more family friendly bathroom.
To close, I leave you with another view of the SALTWATER POOL. Ugh. I die.
Oh I want to jump right in that SALTWATER POOL!
