Monday Morning Millionaire: Go to French Cajun Country Without Leaving University Park

Share News:

This home is all about the details, which greet you from the moment you walk into the front door of 3612 Caruth Boulevard. This home is just spot-on, right down to the checkerboard-stained hardwoods in the foyer. If this Louisiana French-style home by designed by Paul Turney and built by Rusty Goff doesn’t get your heart racing, then you need to check your pulse!

Marketed by top-notch Allie Beth Allman agent Pam Dyer, this University Park home is listed at $3.25 million and is worth every red cent. There are five bedrooms, six and a half baths, and almost 6,500 square feet. Top that all off with Highland Park ISD schools (Hyer attendance zone) and you have an excellent value.

Despite the wood finishes everywhere you turn, this home is bright and welcoming. That has a lot to do with the tons of huge floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the living and dining rooms with light. I think it makes this stunning University Park home both spacious and cozy.

But I am in L-O-V-E with this kitchen, guys. I wouldn’t mind slaving away on turkey and all the fixins’ this Thursday if I had a gorgeous place like this one to do it in! From the bead-board ceiling, the two-tone cabinets, to the copper island counter, the brick-framed range, and the herringbone brick floors, this home perfectly melds old-world and high-end. It is totally to die for!

There’s a keeping room right next to the kitchen, too, which has a brick fireplace that’s just perfect for everyone to hang out and have a few pre-Thanksgiving apertifs, am I right? (Side note: Have a listing that has a to-die-for dining room? Send it our way by Wednesday for our special Thanksgiving feature!)

The master bedroom, with a super-high vaulted ceiling, is just incredible. It’s the perfect retreat for when you’ve had too much turkey and wine (hello tryptophan!) and perhaps a bit too much Aunt Mavis.

Wash away all the family drama and hard work you put in for that one meal in your amazing master bath. I love that there are two separate vanities on SEPARATE SIDES OF THE ROOM. This should be standard in all luxury baths. Seriously, I do not want to have to face my husband at early hours, and this is the perfect solution.

Now, the backyard, that’s the best place for the after dinner football watching marathon. That is, if you don’t want to watch football! I would love to enjoy my dessert and port and just sit by the pool in one of those comfy chaises, wouldn’t you?

Know another house that’s perfect for hosting Thanksgiving dinner? Email us at [email protected] or [email protected] by Wednesday!

Candy- My husband and I designed and built this house with Paul and Rusty, and we still say it is our favorite house. It is a truly wonderful family home. I hope the next family who owns it loves it as much as we did and the current family does. When we moved to Arizona in 2010 we went on the hunt for what we called "Caruth in Arizona" . Thank you for highlighting it. I have many people emailing me the link , made my morning. Happy Thanksgiving!
