Wishlist Wednesday: Cooking Up Luxury Costs Less in Oak Cliff

Share News:

Resting on a gorgeous 1.36 acres, this jewel in Oak Cliff’s West Kessler is a welcoming escape from the roar of the city. This beautifully remolded mid century modern at 808 N. Hampton Rd. is surrounded by rolling hills and mature vegetation. Spread out over a roomy 4,018 sq. ft., it has 3 bedrooms, 3.1 bathrooms and 3 living areas. And for those house guests that just can’t take a hint, there’s a guest suite with its own bedroom, living room, full bath and separate HVAC. Listed at only $900,000, this urban oasis is a steal. And it’s only about a mile from Bishop Arts District.

The kitchen comes equipped with custom cabinetry, Thermador 6-burner commercial-grade cooktop and vent system, Sub-Zero refrigerator and full-size wine refrigerator, Miele built-in coffee machine, 3 Miele ovens, and gorgeous Delirium slab granite counters. Commercial grade cooktop AND built-in wine fridge? I’m sold!

The entire home is fitted with programmable lighting design by well-known Dallas lighting architect, Bill Jansing. The formal entry opens to a beautifully designed living room with a floating cove-lit ceiling, Brazilian travertine floors, museum finish walls and a custom built-in lighted art display. The family room includes floor-to-ceiling windows with window lined walls, wood burning fireplace with Brazilian granite mantle, flat panel TV with surround sound system and custom audio/video built-ins.

The large master suite features tall ceilings, a luxury Zen bathroom with floating custom back-lit cherry cabinetry, jetted-soaking tub and oversized rain shower with DornBracht fixtures, and a custom closet system. This much closet space is just an excuse to go shopping.

The home’s exterior is any host’s dream. There are several outside entertaining areas and a pool with expansive decks and cascading water features. And since you’ll be living the good life on over an acre, feel free to party into the night without disturbing any of your neighbors. For under a million, you could own an amazing 4,000 sq. ft. home AND your own private park inside the Dallas city limits.

Amazing home!! It was on the North Oak Cliff home tour a couple of years ago. The owners have a knockout modern art collection- Lichtenstein, Calder, etc. Well, hopefully they packed those before going on the market!
