Monday Morning Millionaire: That Southern Charm is Alive and Well in Dallas Real Estate

Share News:

Good morning! You may have heard that the Cowboys trounced the Redskins yesterday! You may also have heard that ranches are coming back in style. Yes, after all those years of mega-storied McMansion utility hogs, guess what more people are craving: a one story ranch! And 5337 Southern is a stunning ranch that was TOTALLY taken down to the studs and updated by mega builder Nickey Oates. Basically, you have a new home with a pool so gorgeous it’s won an award. There’s a kitchen that will compete with (and rule over) any brand new sassy McMansion kitchen. Case in point: an Advantium oven. Where do I begin? Traditional, but not overtly so. Perfect size at 3509 square feet: three bedrooms, four and a half baths, formals, den, library, verandah and that stunner of a pool. Inside there are vaulted ceilings, gorgeous hardwoods — pecan in the master and adjoining library — central vac, plantation shutters, fire sprinkers, limestone and marble baths, recirculating tankless water heaters, and 18 SEER HVAC. Listed with Christopher McGuire over at Briggs-Freeman Sotheby’s International for $1,185,000.

Gonna be picky here: why do they mix the white cabinets with the dark center islands? I just don't get it. Otherwise, great house!
