Hot Builder Report: I’ve Got This One In My Circle of Trust, Dallas Real Estate News

Share News:

His name is Leo M. Savino, a 28 year old former commercial real estate guy who is now building some amazing homes in the Park Cities. Did I say he is only 28? That is correct. Leo’s company is called Significant Buildings & Construction, and from what I’ve seen, he has an amazing eye cultivated by charming parents who educated him exquisitely. Anyhow, the home will be complete when I return from Pebble BEach, so get ready for a treat.

Meantime, I like to tease:

Candy Evans, founder and publisher of CandysDirt.com, is one of the nation’s leading real estate reporters.

Is that a cottage cheese texture on the walls in the first image ???

    • C C Allen on August 30, 2011 at 3:20 pm

The material on the walls (this is the master bedroom) is gorgeous white stone. Although the picture can't capture the stone surface details, the beautiful texture of the natural material is stunning and makes a large, yet subtle statement .

What is that thing hanging in front of the window?

    • C C Allen on August 30, 2011 at 3:22 pm

This is a hanging, rather large rectangular glass and metal light fixture.

The house is too big for the tiny lot on Colgate by St Michaels / ESD Lower School. It's overlandscaped as well. Not impressed.

    • C C Allen on August 30, 2011 at 3:25 pm

The tall shrubs were installed to ensure privacy for the owners, who will undoubtedly love the floor-to-ceiling glass, and will be equally happy they're not living in a fishbowl.

Impressive. I'm referring to the house NOT the review. I hope he didn't pay to have this written. His work deserves someone who can write a little more dynamically and colorfully; with verve. It would have saved people all the inquiries and someone sounding like they were having to defend Leo's house design's "honor." Great job, Leo. I knew you had it in you and am praying you'll continue to successfully build up your family's company.

    • Isabella Grey on September 6, 2011 at 3:46 pm

Oh, and the photos need MAJOR help if you want people to believe this house and he are as "hot" as you "say" they are. "Show me the money," as Jerry Macguire states.

Isabella, I am thrilled you are commenting. Leo DID NOT pay for this review, no one ever does on my blog. Builders may pay to advertise but I retain full editorial control over content. Secondly, I shot those shoddy photos on a cloudy day. Believe you me we will post gorgeous, professional photos of the house. It is going to be gorgeous! Sorry you did not like the write-up, but do stay tuned because I want to knock your socks off or at the very least, make you drop your nail file!

Ah, commenting, yes….quite a professional hazard. Comes with the territory of being a journalist/reporter/editor. Your blog/site is very impressive. As to the "knock your socks off…make you drop your nail file," bit, my response would be similar to Roman Nagel's in "Ocean's 12," were he says, that was "such a terrible cliche'." Have great week and I wish you the best.
